Short version: we don't track you. We don't run ads. We don't share your email. If you submit the contact form, your message arrives in one inbox. If you subscribe to the newsletter, your email is in Resend's audience list. That's it. Long version below if you want the specifics.
1. Who we are
TimeScribe ("we", "us") is an independent reader-supported publication based in India. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, why, and how to control it.
2. What we collect
- Contact-form submissions — name, email, subject, and message text. Stored in our email inbox (Resend / Gmail).
- Newsletter subscriptions — email address only. Stored in Resend Audiences.
- Donations — name + email (optional). Stored only when you reach out via the contact email after a UPI transfer.
- Server logs — IP address + user agent, retained for up to 14 days for spam-rate-limiting. Never sold, never shared.
3. What we do NOT collect
- No advertising cookies.
- No tracking pixels.
- No third-party analytics that profile you across sites.
- No browser fingerprinting.
4. Third-party services we use
- Vercel (hosting) — logs IP for security and infra.
- Resend — receives contact-form emails and newsletter subscriptions.
- Cloudflare Turnstile — bot challenge on the contact form. Privacy-friendly alternative to reCAPTCHA.
- Google Fonts — self-hosted via Next.js; no requests leave your browser to Google.
5. Your rights (DPDP Act 2023 + GDPR)
You can ask us at any time to: (a) tell you what information we hold about you, (b) correct it, (c) delete it, or (d) export it. We honour these requests within 30 days of receipt at the contact email below.
6. Children
The site is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have, please contact us and we will delete it.
7. Cookies
We use only the minimum: a local preference for your reading-size choice and the active language. No analytics, advertising, or cross-site cookies.
8. Changes
We may update this policy. When we do, the "Last updated" date at the top of this page changes. Substantive changes are announced via the newsletter and on the home page.
